Douglas Fir Dimensional

1 x 6 & 1 x 8 - We have an abundant supply of this material and it is well-suited for making rustic furniture, paneling, fencing, set design, you name it.
2 x 4 - The most common framing material used. We also have a large, steady flow of this material at great prices (we beat Home Depot's pricing) for a product that is immeasurably better in quality than the lumber than you buy out of a home center*.
2 x 6 - Widely used by furniture makers, set designers or for flooring. We normally have an ample supply of this on-hand for immediate delivery.
2 x 8, 10, 12,14 - We also get loads of these sizes but it is often put right to use to fill flooring orders. If you need this material, please let us know and we'll put you on our list if we don't have any in stock. Due to the low cost, the 2 x 4 material comes as-is. You'll have to de-nail it yourself.

Douglas Fir Beams

Our Douglas Fir Beams are sourced mainly from right here in Southern California. However, if we find an exceptional offer, we broker material by the truckload from all over the country. Each building that comes down has it's own unique characteristic and the material coming out of it is different. Material ranges from 4x6, 8, 10,12 all the way up to 24 x 24 (as seen in center pic). Material also varies from rough-sawn full dimensional to 4-side smooth, Painted, Unpainted, etc. Rest assured that if we offer it, it is a good deal. We pass on about 80% of the material we are offered because we don't feel it is a bargain for our customers.

Hand-Hewn Hardwood Beams

Hand-Hewn Hardwood Beams

Hand-Hewn Hardwood Beams
Hand-Hewn Hardwood normally come in a mixed group of hardwoods... White & Red Oak, Beech, Hickory, Poplar, Elm, etc. These are the real-deal. They generally come out of barns located in the Midwest and were erected in the mid-1800's through the early 1900's. Beautiful material that is a real part of America's history. Hardwood material is not always stocked at our Los Angeles facility but is usually kept in stock in our midwest facility to be shipped as ordered.

100 Year Old Whiskey Storage Facility - Going, Going, Gone!

100 year old Old Whiskey Storage Facility

Nearly the size of a football field, this facility was dismantled...saving about 500,000 BF of material from the landfill!

We carefully dismantle each structure by hand, saving nearly 100% of the material. Even the bricks and tin roofing sheets are salvaged. With many of the buildings having been put together with bolts rather than nails, there is very little damage to the material during the dismantling phase. The larger beams are usually sold as-is and the other material is milled into flooring or used to create furniture of the highest quality.
